| Customer Reviews: Top of the range. January 24, 2010 Mr. S. M. Harris (with the wife and kids) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Having spent many many years with various Swiss Army pocket knifes I stumbled upon a great deal price just after Christmas 2009 on Amazon and couldnt resist the Swiss Tool RS. What can I say about this wonderful piece of kit. Well first it is of exceptional quality, heavy in the hand and robust are two words to describe it.
The plier jaws are not spring loaded like other tools but they dont need to be, the weight of the tool gives it great torque and userbility (is that a word?). The tools are seperatly spring loaded which basically means that each individual tool locks and should not unlock if you open up another (like cheaper brands do, most notably Gerbers).
The usual selection of stuff here with some extra wire stripping kit that you dont generaly see with Victorinox, the side wire stripper being particularly useful. Only downside is they still insist on scissors with that silly wire in them, who knows one day they may make a solid scissor like the other side of the factory does (the Wenger brand).
All steel construction, very strong and a nice proper nylon pouch with belt loop (in a funny dark grey/blue colour) makes this a nice treat which will last a lifetime. The addition of the seatbelt cutter belt is a nice touch as I dont personally like a sheepsfoot or serrated blade, I find the cutter more handy (and sharper too). Of course you can not add bits like with a Wave or Gerber but when was the last time you used a Torx 20 anyway??
