PLEASE BUY ONE January 4, 2007 D. Little (Kent) 127 out of 130 found this review helpful
If you are looking at this alarm means you need one. On Tuesday 2nd January my wife and I with our 4 week old son returned from a week with my mother at Christmas. We turned the heating on and finally relaxed in front room with our son. We were dozing off when this alarm went off which was above fireplace. The emergency gas leak engineer said our back boiler had become blocked and fumes were staying in the room. I am just very relieved that I got this a few weeks before Christmas and dread to think of consequences. This alarm is simple to use. Just insert batteries and place in room. IF YOU DON'T BUY THIS ALARM THEN AT LEAST BY A DIFFERENT ONE.
carbon dioxide detector June 2, 2009 S. J. Hopper (west yorkshire) 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
From ordering to delivery, found it was very quick. Unfortunately larger packaging than expected and had to collect from the post office. Instructions for fitting and correct positioning in the home were very clear. Initially had one installed in the ceiling by a cowboy and would have perished if there had been Co in the house as the gas rises only mid way between floor to ceiling!
Great device - it could save your life February 4, 2008 SEC (Bicester, England) 48 out of 50 found this review helpful
I bought one of these recently. It comes in a clear plastic blister pack with instructions, screws, mounting bracket and batteries. Out of the pack it looks just like a smoke detector, and is fitted the same way. It took a couple of minutes to install. It goes on the wall, held by two screws. You mount the bracket on the wall, and then slot the detector into it. The device can be reremoved easily if necessary, though the battery compartment is on the front panel. I fitted mine at the top of the staircase.
Just like a smoke detector, it has test and reset buttons. The green light flashes every 30 seconds so you know it is working. It is not intrusive at all.
Just as I would not live in a house without a smoke detector, I would not be without a CO detector.
CO Detector Review October 6, 2009 Mrs. Susan Colebrook (Blewbury UK) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
The detector is good quality and was delivered promptly. It's easy to install with good instructions. It alarms at different CO levels depending on the length of time its exposed to the gas, so should avoid false alarms. We placed it in the utility room where the central heating boiler is and feel more confident now we have got it.Kidde 9CO-5UK Carbon Monoxide Detector

Very pleased with this product. Having experienced an almost fatal leak previously I was keen to obtain a detector which would alert everyone without fail. This one is very loud.
